Purpose:
The Assistant Sales Manager (ASM) maintains and grows relationships with small and medium-sized customers while achieving the assigned sales and profit growth goals. Reporting to Area Marketing Manager (AMM), the ASM is expected to retain existing business, expand StarchPack’s share of customers’ purchases and offer new products and services to assign customers’ accounts along with business development and onboarding new customers and payment collection. The mode of communication with customers includes telephone, email, and face-to-face meetings. The job includes extensive travelling.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assure retaining of customer volume, sale and profitability through proactive stewardship of StarchPack’s relationship with assigned customer accounts in small and medium sized segments.
- Achieve sales and profitability targets, meets customer satisfaction levels to retain and achieve the growth targets of assigned customers.
- Penetrate assigned accounts by offering new and additional products or services to increase the share and find out new customers within similar segment.
- Business development as per the assigned targets.
- Proactively manage customer satisfaction and service delivery by anticipating potential service problems and monitoring satisfaction.
- Asist other team members with customers other than his own portfolio when required.
- Function as a key interface between the customer and all relevant departments of StarchPack.
- Payment collection and ensuring timely collection of credit as per the company policy.
- Ensure company policies and procedures are strictly followed by everyone. Serves as a safety representative to assure safety rules and regulations are strictly followed.
