Deputy Manager - Motor Claims
Key Responsibilities
· Review and process Partial Loss Reports (PLRs), including surveyor assessments, repair estimates, depreciation, excess/deductibles, salvage, and other claim documentation.
· Review and process Final Survey Reports (FSRs), including scrutiny of repair bills and reinspection, ensuring settlements are made strictly in accordance with policy terms.
· Handle and review total loss, theft, and snatched-vehicle claims, along with other complex motor claims, ensuring proper documentation and compliance prior to recommending settlement.
· Identify and control claim leakage by reviewing claims for unnecessary repair costs, overcharging, duplicate or unsupported charges, irregularities, inconsistencies, and potential fraud indicators, and flag cases requiring further investigation.
· Monitor outstanding and aged claims. Identify delays and coordinate with surveyors and workshops to expedite PLR and FSR submission.
· Maintain professional working relationships with insureds, brokers, surveyors, workshops, and other external stakeholders.
· Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, digitization, and reduced claims turnaround time.
Qualification & Experience
Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Commerce, Finance, Insurance, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline. A professional insurance qualification will be an advantage.
Experience: 5+ of relevant experience in motor insurance claims, including claims assessment, processing, settlement, surveyor/workshop coordination, and team supervision.
