Junior Maintenance Executive – Instrumentation

Experience Required: 4–5 Years

Education: B-Tech / 3-Year Diploma in Electronics/Electrical/Instrumentation (DAE)

Industry Preference: Paper Machine / Process Industry

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine, preventive, and condition-based maintenance on instrumentation and electronic equipment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve faults in PLC systems (Siemens) and ABB DCS (800xA).
• Carry out calibration and maintenance of field instruments including:
• Control valves (brands such as Festo, Samson, Masoneilan, Metso)
• Positioners (e.g., Siemens, ABB TZID, Neles, NAF)
• Transmitters (Pressure, Flow, Temperature, Level)
• Load cells and weighing systems
• HART-based devices using HART communicator
• Read, interpret, and update P&IDs, loop drawings, and instrument hook-up diagrams.
• Support maintenance of paper machine instrumentation such as steam & condensate systems, vacuum systems,
• Monitor equipment performance and provide timely corrective actions to minimize downtime.
• Ensure compliance with plant safety procedures, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and instrumentation safety standards.
• Assist in the execution of plant modification projects, shutdown jobs, and new equipment installations.
• Maintain proper documentation of work orders, calibration records, and spare parts usage using SAP system

Required Skills & Knowledge

• • • Strong knowledge of:
      • PLC programming basics & troubleshooting
      • ABB DCS architecture, controllers, and I/O modules
      • Field instruments and industrial communication protocols (HART, Profibus, Modbus)

• Good understanding of preventive & predictive maintenance methodologies.
• Ability to diagnose issues independently in instrumentation loops.
• Proficiency in reading electrical and instrumentation drawings.
• Sound understanding of industry safety standards, isolation practices, and risk assessment.
• Experience working in paper mills or continuous process industries (preferred).
• Familiarity with SAP/CMMS for maintenance activities is an advantage.

Additional Requirements

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Team player with good communication and coordination skills.
• Project experience (installation, commissioning, upgrades) will be considered a plus.
