R&D Manager

Key Accountabilities:

1.    Initiate new development projects and futuristic research projects considering recent trends of green chemistry and sustainable products.
2. Effective communication with DIC/SunChemical regional technical teams for the transfer of advance products/ technologies.
3. Accomplishing the development from concept to commercialization of innovative products as per prevailing market practices to ensure that the organization's goals and objectives are fully met.
4. Analyze and test competitor's products. Review and update existing products so that they meet or exceed the performance characteristics of competitor's products (benchmarking techniques).
5. To supervise and develop cost effective products in comparison with competition
6. Recommend the nature and scope of present and future product lines by reviewing product specification and requirements, appraising new product ideas.
7. Maintaining product management staff by selecting, orienting, and training of employees.
8. Bring new products to market by analyzing proposed product requirement and product development program; preparing return-on-investment analysis; establishing time schedules with engineering and manufacturing.
9. Process Optimization of the developed products
10. Coordinating with sales team to work on potential market products. Conduct market survey, benchmarking competitor products and commercial feasibility.
11. Liaison up with production and customer services team on product trials and validations.
12. Implementation of IMS Operational control with awareness about IMS Risk assessment procedure and controls as per EHS requirement.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Behaviour:

1. 1. M.Sc./M.Phil. Chemistry (Pure Chemistry, Organic or Polymer Chemistry) , preferably a PHD
   2. 12+ years of Industrial Research (additional to academic research) with at least 5+ years in technical department of a chemical industry. Successfully completed industrial research projects or have published minimum 3 industrial papers. Especially in the field of polymers and/ or coatings (conventional surface coatings and functional coatings) and adhesives relevant to graphics and non- graphic applications."
   3. Must have in depth knowledge of flexo and gravure inks or similar industry and international compliances like Swiss Ordinance, EUPIA, CEPE and FDA.

   6. Problem solving and data analytics
