Risk Engineer

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct risk assessment surveys and prepare professional risk survey reports for industrial and commercial occupancies. Contribute to execution of the departmental Risk Calendar and related initiatives.
  • Evaluate risks associated with insurance exposures by reviewing client operations, processes and industry-specific hazards.
  • Analyze critical data such as loss history, survey findings, business interruption potential and safety records to identify and quantify risk exposures.
  • Develop practical risk improvement recommendations to help minimize potential losses.
  • Collaborate with underwriting, claims, business development and other functions to enhance risk-based decision-making.
  • Contribute to the development and promotion of a risk-aware culture within the organization and beyond. Provide technical advisory support on emergent risks to internal and external stakeholders.

Qualification & Experience

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial, etc.).
  • 1–3 years of relevant experience in risk engineering, HSE, loss prevention or a similar field.
  • Strong analytical, report-writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to conduct site inspections and prepare technical reports.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and modern data visualization tools.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of industrial risk assessment methodologies.
  • Familiarity with fire protection systems, industrial safety practices, property risk engineering and process safety.
  • Strong stakeholder management and presentation skills.
  • Willingness to travel frequently for risk assessment surveys.
