Risk Engineer
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct risk assessment surveys and prepare professional risk survey reports for industrial and commercial occupancies. Contribute to execution of the departmental Risk Calendar and related initiatives.
- Evaluate risks associated with insurance exposures by reviewing client operations, processes and industry-specific hazards.
- Analyze critical data such as loss history, survey findings, business interruption potential and safety records to identify and quantify risk exposures.
- Develop practical risk improvement recommendations to help minimize potential losses.
- Collaborate with underwriting, claims, business development and other functions to enhance risk-based decision-making.
- Contribute to the development and promotion of a risk-aware culture within the organization and beyond. Provide technical advisory support on emergent risks to internal and external stakeholders.
Qualification & Experience
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial, etc.).
- 1–3 years of relevant experience in risk engineering, HSE, loss prevention or a similar field.
- Strong analytical, report-writing and communication skills.
- Ability to conduct site inspections and prepare technical reports.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and modern data visualization tools.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of industrial risk assessment methodologies.
- Familiarity with fire protection systems, industrial safety practices, property risk engineering and process safety.
- Strong stakeholder management and presentation skills.
- Willingness to travel frequently for risk assessment surveys.
